What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Lourdes Industries?
Position Summary:
Responsible for monitoring and inspecting cables and wire harnesses in a manufacturing environment to ensure product meets established quality standards and assembly drawings/work instructions. Performs visual and dimensional inspection for assemblies and finished products.
Essential Functions:
· Inspect with standard QC inspection equipment such as calipers, optical comparators, micrometers, dial indicators, thread gauges, must be able to use a tape measure, ruler, etc.
· Read and interpret complex electro-mechanical, cable/harness and fabrication/assembly drawings and work instructions.
· Checks and approves first piece and the final product for release to the customer.
· Inspects products to J-STD001 and IPC-620 requirements as well as other MIL specs that are applicable.
· Logs the results of all inspection work.
· Ensure that customer specific product requirements are met prior to shipment.
· Use a computer and operating software to access and retrieve data as required.
Additional Duties:
· Perform other duties as required or assigned.
· Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communicational skills.
· Ability to function under minimal supervision.
· This position requires sitting for long periods of time.
· Maintains a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· High school degree or equivalent.
· Familiarity with commercial standards, military standards, ISO standards, AS standards, etc.
· Must be able to read and understand English.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 5 years quality experience.
