Job Title: Counter Sales Associate
Job Status: Non-Exempt, Salary plus Commissions
Reports To: Branch Manager
Summary: Sells corporate products to businesses, industrial establishments, and individuals over the counter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Service counter customers at the counter.
- Call customers and answer phone calls.
- Keep counter shelves stocked and conduct bin audits.
- Pull customer orders and help load customer orders in parking lot.
- Service customers under the directions of the customer's account managers.
- Perform warehouse tasks when needed by warehouse manager
- Work with Inventory Control Manager for approval of condition on customer returns.
- Assist inside sales and telephone operator answering customer phone calls.
- Be proactive in calling regular customers for business.
- Learn products with vendors, Computer and Lowe training.
- Other duties as assigned as necessitated by business demands.
Education and/or Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of contact management systems, internet software, inventory software, and order processing systems.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable automobile with insurance.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to grasp/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
- Moderate noise level.
