Description
BASIC FUNCTION : Supervises and coordinates the work of nurses. Evaluates nursing care performance.
MAJOR DUTIES :
- Leads and directs the work of Clinical Nurses and prepares annual performance appraisals.
- Interviews and recommends staff candidates for Nursing positions.
- Participates in decision regarding new hires, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Conducts on the job orientation for new nurses.
- Meets with interdisciplinary team and participates in the treatment planning of the consumers. Serves as an integral component of treatment teams.
- Administers medication prescribed by the physician.
- Responsible for necessary clinical and administrative paperwork.
- Develops and conducts health maintenance and educational groups on issues such as hygiene, nutrition and substance abuse.
- Writes progress notes on consumers' issues as indicated.
- Conducts initial assessment on new admissions, schedules medical appointments to ensure continuity of care.
- Audits medical charts for compliance with regulatory agency guidelines.
- Administers and monitors consumers' vital signs, incoming blood work, urine toxicology, PPD reading and follows-up on abnormal results.
- Provides emotional support to consumers.
- Assists Physician in establishing and monitoring detoxification schedule.
- Checks emergency crash cart drugs and oxygen supplies on a monthly basis.
- Participates in the Medical Task Force, monthly supervisory / nurses, weekly MTAR / SSMR staff meetings if applicable.
- Fills in for other nurses who are on leave.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
SCHEDULE : Full Time
Mon / Tues / Thurs, 9am-5pm; Wed / Friday 10 : 30am-5 : 30pm; Sat 7 : 30am-12 : 30pm
RATE : $90,000 - $97,000 / year dependent on experience.
