What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technologist position at Loyal Source?
Loyal Source is looking for 2 general medical technologists to work in all areas of the lab, 1 medical technologist in phlebotomy and 1 histologist.
Responsibilities:
- Is expected to use independent technical judgment to analyze and interpret laboratory results
- Will perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results.
- Requires a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
- Will be required to monitor quality control systems and measures.
- Requires the ability to interpret and apply complex written instructions.
- Must utilize basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation
- May need to resolve problems encountered in the laboratory. Must be able to communicate, consult, and interact with other members of the healthcare team, external relations, customer service, and patient education
Specific Requirements:
- Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT/CLS):
- Technologist must have a Bachelor of Science Degree
- Technologist must have Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist generalist certification from a nationally recognized accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT etc.)
- Technologist must have a minimum of two (2) years of laboratory experience.
- BLS certification through AHA
Pay: Starting at $38-42 plus $4.93hr H&W
