PM Server Assistant

Job Overview:

As a Server Assistant at Palm House, you will be an essential part of our distinguished service team, providing seamless and sophisticated support to our waitstaff while enhancing the overall guest dining experience. Your role is crucial to ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently, and your attention to detail and dedication to exceptional service will directly contribute to maintaining the high standards of Palm House. With a keen eye for detail, proactive support, and commitment to excellence, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dining Room Support:

  • Assist servers by ensuring that guests receive timely and attentive service throughout their dining experience.
  • Set and clear tables with precision, ensuring the dining area is always pristine and ready for guests.
  • Deliver water, bread, and other accompaniments to tables as needed, ensuring all guest requests are promptly fulfilled.
  • Refill drinks and check on guests regularly to ensure their satisfaction and comfort.

• Table Setup and Maintenance:

  • Assist with the preparation of tables prior to meal service, including setting up utensils, glassware, napkins, and condiments, ensuring a polished and elegant presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, including clearing used dishes and resetting tables quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with servers to ensure each table is properly stocked with necessary items during service, including menus, silverware, and beverage refills.

• Guest Interaction:

  • Provide excellent guest service, assisting with special requests, ensuring that any guest concerns are communicated to the service team, and striving to exceed expectations.
  • Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable and informed about the menu offerings.
  • Engage with guests in a courteous and professional manner, maintaining Palm House’s reputation for outstanding hospitality.

• Collaboration with Team:

  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure all guest needs are met promptly, efficiently, and with a positive attitude.
  • Assist with restocking service stations, including condiments, glassware, and silverware, ensuring all supplies are readily available to the service team.

• Assisting with Special Events:

  • Support the team during large events, banquets, and conferences by ensuring that all guest needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing event spaces, working alongside event planners and the kitchen team to guarantee seamless service delivery.

• Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the dining area and service stations.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines in accordance with Palm House’s standards.

• Customer Satisfaction and Brand Representation:

  • Represent Palm House’s commitment to excellence by upholding the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, and guest service at all times.
  • Engage with guests to ensure they have a positive dining experience and communicate any special requests or dietary restrictions to the server team.

• Efficiency and Time Management:

  • Work quickly and efficiently during peak hours to assist with the smooth flow of service, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.
  • Maintain a high level of organization to support the service team during busy shifts.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel environment is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• A positive, friendly attitude and commitment to exceptional guest service.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure during busy service periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and high service standards.
• Ability to interact with a diverse clientele, providing personalized service to enhance guest experiences.

• Ability to stand for long periods and assist in carrying and serving items in a busy environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more during busy shifts).
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, including trays, dishes, and other restaurant supplies.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and carry items in order to assist servers and maintain the dining area.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, maintaining attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Must have the physical stamina to work long shifts, especially during high-traffic times or special events.
