The Opportunity:
We are seeking a research analyst who is expected to conduct in-depth research to support decision-making and strategic planning by the CIO Team. This role will involve consuming and generating research and analysis across macro, company earnings, and digital assets.
The work also includes monitoring of investment themes, trends, performing competitive analysis, and supporting the research activities of the CIO team.
Background in finance, economics, or quantitative or engineering fields is a must.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist/Conduct research on various topics (eg., macro, sector views, company earnings, protocol research, etc.) and contribute to our newsletter and other written publications
- Build and maintain Lumida ‘chartbooks’ covering Macro, Crypto, Banking Sector, and various Investment Themes.
- Remain up-to-date on market trends through extensive reading and research, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Consume a vast quantity of research and generate notes from select podcasts, buy-side and sell-side research, select company earnings call, protocol reports, and create meeting minutes from our monthly CIO process.
- Monitor portfolio net exposures to sectors, factors, and investment themes, suggesting exposure adjustments as necessary.
- Track the performance of thematic baskets, such as meme stocks, biotech stocks, bitcoin-sensitive equities, GLP1s, China-focused stocks, and heavily shorted stocks and generate a daily narrative
- Implement long and short strategies developed by our research and portfolio management team.
- Actively review portfolios for tax loss harvesting opportunities and implement strategic substitutions.
- Assist with trade analysis – slippage and order execution
- Maintain a culture of personal accountability and strive for excellence in market performance.
Candidate Profile
- Passion for markets and investing, and ability to operate on a decentralized research basis.
- 1-3 years of experience in a professional work environment.
- A background in finance, economics, or a technical engineering field is beneficial.
- Strong analytical ability and excellent written communication skills.
- Strong preference for candidates pursuing CFA Charter.
- Adept and fluent with Google Sheets, GPT prompting, and other trading tools, Koyfin, Trading View
- History of high achievement in demanding environments, such as athletics.
- Open to various levels of experience, with a deep commitment to mastering financial markets.
