Each month, LSS-SW supports over 5,000 Arizonans across Metro Phoenix, Tucson, and southern Arizona through programs in Refugee Services, Aging & Disability Services, Family Services, and Emergency Services.
Position Overview:
The Early Childhood Provider is a key team member in the Family and Resource Center, supporting the development of young children while their parents participate in educational activities. Under the Program Manager's supervision, this role involves co-facilitating parenting activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment, and assisting with day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include data entry, material preparation, and adhering to safety protocols. The position is part-time, requiring up to 20 hours per week, including one evening and one Saturday per month. This role offers opportunities for professional growth and ongoing training in family support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parenting Activities (70%): Co-facilitate adult and child activities, and plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children during Parent Education and Workshops. Greet families, respect cultural differences, and maintain professional attire and attitude.
- Data Management/Entry (20%): Enter parent attendance information accurately and promptly.
- Parent Activity Coordination (5%): Assist early childhood Educators in preparing and storing materials for parent activities.
- Safety and Protocol (2.5%): Follow internal safety, health, and environmental protocols for clients and workspace.
- Other Duties (2.5%): Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with 12 hours of College-level Early Childhood Education or 2 years of early childhood classroom experience.
- Comfort working with children (birth to 5) and parents/caregivers, experience using Microsoft Office, and data entry skills.
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid certification, Level 1 Fingerprint Card, and TB clearance.
- Reliable transportation, valid AZ driver's license, clear criminal background and driving record, and clear Department of Economic Security Central Registry Background Check.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse populations.
- Strong ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Ability to develop and maintain a Professional Development Plan and participate in required ongoing training.
