Lycee Francais de la Nouvelle Orleans is Hiring an Accounting Clerk Near Orleans, LA

Description

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for all bookkeeping functions in Quickbooks, and is the primary point of contact for purchasing, reimbursements, and billing for Lycée and its affiliate entities. Also, responsible for accurately processing payroll twice a month.

Role and Responsibilities

The duties of the Accounting Clerk include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

Accounting 

  • Responsible for maintaining integrity of general ledgers and supporting documentation.
  • Posting transactions, including vendor invoices, checks, receipts, deposits and transfers, to the appropriate account and period in the accounting system.
  • Properly recognizing revenue for State and Federal funding, private grants, fee based programs, and fundraising contributions.
  • Responsible for monthly and annual closing processes including reconciling all bank accounts and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintaining all bookkeeping functions in Quickbooks, including:
    • Recording vendor invoices and processing invoices for payment
    • Preparing and sending bills to customers
    • Entering deposits and preparing deposit slips
    • Managing vendor and customer accounts and relationships
  • Processing payroll twice a month for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Update time card punches within Paylocity.
  • Managing cash collections and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Route financial contract to appropriate persons.
  • Time Effort Certifications.
  • Annual Secretary of State filing.
  • Serving as a liaison between Finance and teachers, parents, and vendors. 
  • Assist with Medicaid billing and reporting.
  • Manage gift card purchasing and inventory.

Requirements

 Expectations, Educational Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • One year experience in Charter School finance
  • LASBO Certification
  • Experience with Quickbooks and bill.com
  • Well developed interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Two or more years experience performing bookkeeping functions
  • Experience working in a Charter school setting
  • Interest in and experience with French culture; French proficiency 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Powerpoint
