Lynx Career Center is Hiring an ASSET MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST Near Orlando, FL

NOTICE TO STAFFING AGENCIES:LYNX has an internal recruiting department. Staffing agencies are hereby specifically directed NOT to contact LYNX employees in an attempt to present candidates. Our LYNX recruiting team is handling this recruitment internally.Description: This position is responsible for ensuring that all LYNX assets are accounted for, inventoried and ultimately disposed of properly according to LYNX’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements including State Statutes. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and processes. Work includes daily planning, administration, and coordination of efforts to maintain a viable, legal, organized and accurate asset management system. This position reports to the Asset Management Administrator.Essential Functions:Maintains the Asset Management System in accordance with LYNX policies and procedures and in compliance with FTA financial management requirements. Follows FTA circular 5010.1C Grant Management Guidelines, Federal Acquisition Regulations and 49 CFR Part 18, the Common Rule, as well as Florida State Statues. Creates assets in the Asset Management System, ensuring assets are tagged, processes asset transfer and disposal forms.Reconciles assets with financial records.Prepares asset reports for auditing and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted standards, GASB standards, LYNX Policy and Procedures and State Statute.Assists with the auctioning of surplus items, including coordination with departments for disposal to auction and auction company vendor.Assists all departments/divisions in the coordination of annual physical inventory of capital assets to assure agency compliance with FTA internal control and reporting requirements.Assists with the preparation of various forms for application of vehicle title and registration, updating databases and spreadsheets.Prepares and suggests program improvements.Assists with conducting companywide asset management training annually or as needed.Generates various complex and specialized correspondence, memos, agendas, reports, forms, manuals, or other relevant materials appropriate to the assigned department; prepares or reviews agenda items related to the disposal, redeployment, sale, or auction of assets for review.Performs a variety of critical record keeping duties; maintains proper records for company use including but not limited to, preparation of capital asset files.Receives inquiries and concerns, ascertaining the nature of the request, and resolving personally or directing it to the appropriate individual or department.Coordinates and performs assigned office operations to support department goals and objectives; coordinates activities with other departments and agencies as needed.Operates a company vehicle for the purpose of reviewing inventory at all LYNX facilities.Performs other duties as may be required or assigned. Required Qualifications:Associate’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Business, Accounting, Public Administration or a closely related field plus two years of experience in accounting support work that demonstrates the ability to maintain confidential, accurate, and detailed data in an automated systems environment. An equivalent combination of related training / experience and certifications may be used to substitute education requirement on a year for year basis. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of business asset management, property control, logistics or warehousing processes, policies and techniques; skill in planning, organizing, and coordinating. Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and procedures, and to apply such knowledge to account transactions.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks that involve complicated and varied procedures or work methods, permitting reasonable initiative and independent judgment in order to meet established deadlines; and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be proficient in Excel at an intermediate level.Skill in preparing complex correspondence, summaries and reports in a clear and concise manner; skill in business English, e.g., correspondence formats, spelling, punctuation and grammar.Skill in performing routine mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently.Ability to operate basic office equipment e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, facsimile machines.Skill in reading, updating and maintaining various records and files; skill in complex administrative support functions, e.g., records maintenance, data analysis, reports processing, documentation proofing.Ability to communicate (read, write, speak), understand and carry out oral and written instructions in the English language, including the correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.Ability to work in a diverse environment. Work Environment and Special Considerations:Works in an office environment.Will be available to work nights and weekends as needed.Must be able to lift 30 pounds overhead.LYNX provides the community with much needed public transportation, and it is important for the Agency to resume its services as quickly and as safely as possible in the event of any natural, technological, or human-caused emergency or disaster.
