Lynx Career Center is Hiring a HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST Near Orlando, FL
This is an HR Generalist position whose primary focus will be assisting with labor/employee relations as an HR Representative. Will attend disciplinary hearings, take notes, track actions taken, assist management with ensuring fair and consistent application of disciplinary processes, and file all documentation both electronically and in hard copy. Will assist with handling employee requests for ADA Accommodations. Must have excellent writing and organizational skills with attention to detail. This position reports to a Senior HR Generalist. Essential Functions for HR Generalist - Employee and Labor Relations:Provides assistance with employee/labor relations issues.Consults with managers and employees regarding the interpretation of human resource practices, policies, and procedures including related laws and regulations.Provides information and assistance to departmental personnel regarding disciplinary actions and other employee relations issues.Attends disciplinary and grievance hearings; maintains tracking for hearings; ensures proper filing, both electronically and in hard copy, of hearing documentation.Researches and resolves issues related to employee/labor relations activities.Handles unemployment claim notices from DEO.Tracks driver's licenses and DOT cards for all CDL holders.Handles and tracks employee exit interviews.Compiles, analyzes, and summarizes statistical information from various departmental databases.Provides data analysis, reporting, and technical support by retrieving, compiling, analyzing, and summarizing statistical data from HRIS.Creates related reporting and correspondence based on assigned tasks/responsibilities.Provides analytical support for specific projects related to core responsibilities.Coordinates various projects, programs, and services involving diverse administrative operations.Confers with other departments, officials, consultants and explains policies and procedures.Assists in preparing presentations on assigned projects and programs.Prepares reports and internal memos related to project tasks.Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field plus three years of experience assisting with employee and labor relations; or a combination of related education, training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties at the professional level indicated.Desired Qualifications:Public sector experienceSHRM-CP/PHR or other HR related designationExperience with Ceridian DayforceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of employment laws and practices, ADA, and EEO.Knowledge of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.Knowledge of the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.Knowledge of principles and techniques of recruitment and selection in the public sector.Skilled in interviewing techniques and recruitment processes.Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and related software applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, organize projects, work schedules, and assignments.Ability to research information, analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.Ability to work in a diverse environment.Work Environment and Special Considerations:Works in an office environment.Any employee using a company vehicle must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.LYNX provides the community with much needed public transportation, and it is important for the Agency to resume its services as quickly and as safely as possible in the event of any natural, technological, or human-caused emergency or disaster. This position is considered a mission critical member of LYNX’s emergency preparation and response efforts during an emergency or disaster and as such, may be asked to work during these emergencies or disasters.Salary Range: $56,576 to $70,000.
