Lyons Magnus LLC is Hiring a Production Supervisor (Night Shift) Near Walton, KY

Description

Lyons Magnus is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Walton, Kentucky Facility. This is a salaried position with bonus potential and will be a Night Shift position. This position will be a 10 Hour shift / 5 days per week position. The hours will be 6PM-4AM.

The position of Production Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and ensures that the Processing and Downstream teams are performing their job functions properly and that the area is kept in a neat, clean, and efficient manner. This person will directly supervise 40-50 people and will be responsible for ensuring that their direct reports are trained and competent for the position they occupy. Good time management skills and flexible work schedule to accommodate fast paced production environment is a must. Hands on management style for training and support of the operations team is also needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures that Processing Operators are batching product according to established recipes and following all batching procedures including verifying raw material numbers, lot numbers, water/sugar meter settings, etc.
  • Ensures that Filling and Packaging Operators are utilized properly and efficiently.
  • Establishes and Maintains Standard Operating Procedures for all manufacturing functions.
  • Ensures all critical department KPI’s are met regarding Labor, Yield, Output, OEE, and First Time Right.
  • Ensures the Production Schedule handed down from planning is efficient and achievable, responsible for day to day changes and ownership of the weekly schedule.
  • Partners with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) program. In this regard, direct the efforts of the entire Manufacturing team to always remain Audit ready.
  • Works with staff to ensure that all training needs are met and that all manufacturing associates are fully trained on their respective equipment; including cross training associates for vacation or extended leave relief. Analyze current team, coach, council, and develop team.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Work with Safety Coordinator to implement safety-training programs to meet the plant goal of zero “lost time” or recordable accidents.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Managerial field of expertise. (relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in related industry. Good overall knowledge of safety, sanitation, manufacturing operations and quality.
  • Team player. Has the ability to work with the other employees, departments, and customers on the adequate resolution of issues and the successful completion of projects. Can develop teams as needed to develop the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate basic software programs
  • Well-developed conflict resolution skills.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, good communicator with a high level of integrity. Ability to give and receive praise and areas of improvement
  • Familiarity/ willing and able to become familiar with LSS tools and fundamentals such as 5Why’s, RCA, CIL, Process Controls etc.
  • Ability to work in an environment that values being lean and agile in day to day operations.
  • Comfortable with change and ability to be a positive force for change.
