What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at M.W. Watermark™?
Prep and Paint components and equipment at a high-quality level.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the Paint department work flow based on the production schedule.
2. Assign work to Paint employees and ensure that it is completed correctly per company policies and procedures.
3. Confirm all materials for each job to ensure pick accuracy prior to painting.
4. Responsible for Quality Control of orders and employee craftsmanship.
5. Check painted parts for dry film mill thickness.
6. Monitor non-inventory materials. (Paint supplies, safety supplies, consumables, etc.)
7. Prep materials for paint by grinding, sanding, de-greasing, seam sealing, etc.
8. Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.
9. Mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, urethane, zinc epoxies and water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula.
10. Clean paint lines, paint guns and perform other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remain in working order.
11. Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
12. Lead by example by maintaining a positive attitude, understanding and adhering to all company polices, encouraging and mentoring co-workers/employees.
13. Operation of forklifts, cranes, man-lifts.
14. Promote and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
15. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. 8 years experience in an industrial painting environment
2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Must be organized and able to perform in a fast paced environment.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
