What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Aquatics position at MacGregor Downs Country Club?
The Club at 12Oaks & Macgregor Downs Country Club are seeking an Aquatics Director for their locations in Cary NC and Holly Springs NC. This position will report to the General Manager of each location. As the Aquatics Director, you will be responsible for, including but not limited to, directing, and managing all phases of the aquatics program with a strong focus on member satisfaction and revenue generation at both clubs. You will also be responsible for assessing, developing and implementing aquatic plans to achieve desired goals and objectives; planning, administering, and monitoring aquatics safety programs which comply with all industry regulatory agency requirements including lifeguard certifications; purchasing, monitoring and distribution of pool supplies including chemicals to maintain pools; administering emergency procedures as necessary including first aid, CPR, AED; hiring, training, developing and supervising department staff members; supervising a safe, clean, well-maintained club swimming facilities; overseeing projects related to Cap Ex; and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities :
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill The Club at 12Oaks / Macgregor objectives.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
- Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
- Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and The Club at 12Oaks / Macgregor health and safety regulations
- Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools.
- Secures and schedules pool facilities.
- Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
- Purchases equipment, parts and supplies approved by the General Manager.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to establish systems for regularly scheduled pool inspections to ensure proper and efficient working order at all times.
- Conducts and or schedules lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to plan and manage the annual Aquatics Department budget.
- Control payroll and department purchasing costs within the budget and financial guidelines to meet fiscal objectives.
- Ensure proper implementation of aquatic schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for member / staff connections.
- Collaborate with department leaders to maximize enrollments in program registration, pool usage and work effectively with all departments to achieve desired results.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
