We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trust & Estate Attorney to join our reputable law firm. As a member of our team, you will work closely with clients to develop and manage trusts, wills, and estates, ensuring their legal matters are handled with the highest level of care and expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and implement wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
- Provide legal counsel to clients on estate planning, tax implications, and probate matters.
- Assist in the administration of trusts and estates, including managing probate proceedings.
- Represent clients in court when needed for estate disputes or will contests.
- Advise clients on asset protection, charitable giving, and estate tax strategies.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals on complex estates.
- Stay current on laws and regulations affecting estate planning and administration.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active New York Bar membership in good standing. Connecticut admission is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in trust and estate planning, administration, and litigation.
- Strong understanding of federal and state estate laws, including tax considerations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Compassionate, client-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:.
- Experience with Real Estate transactions.
- Background in elder law, asset protection, or charitable giving.
