JOB SUMMARY: The Junior System Administrator, under the general direction of System Administrators I and II, will be responsible for administering, monitoring, and supporting the hardware platforms, software applications, operating systems, networks, and their products and technologies. Duties will also include maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of Madico, Inc. and its affiliated databases. This position will ensure high system uptime and availability standards, establishing documentation, standards, best practices, procedures, processes, and suitable guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a first-level escalation point for technical services regarding user-reported issues. Respond promptly and professionally to trouble tickets with viable solutions.
- Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and support all computer systems, including PCs, printers, copier terminals, remote employees, and multiple branch locations in the US and Canada.
- Create and document support activities and resolutions for individuals and organizations using a companywide support ticket system.
- Provide SQL administration in live and test environments.
- Analyze data contained in the corporate database, identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems, and implement solutions.
- Assist business users in effectively using applications and companies’ information technology systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes and modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements, and implement appropriate resolutions.
- Provide minor programming for some in-house IT projects.
- Work as part of a team to implement significant infrastructure projects
- Provide off-hours maintenance and emergency service support as needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain security and integrity of all infrastructure elements and ensure all security processes, procedures, and standards are correctly implemented.
- Execute continuous learning strategies to stay updated with upcoming system and software releases, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities must include analyzing and solving complex problems with critical thinking skills and proposing practical solutions or workarounds.
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improve work processes.
- Provide input and verify that the documented procedures are adequate and accurate and support the strategy's achievement.
- Understand the IMS policy and how it applies.
- Keep records and data on pertinent business outcomes.
- Participate in internal audits.
- Participate in ongoing process improvement and propose ideas to enhance support levels.
- Participate in external registration and surveillance audits.
- Directly support methods and practices of the IMS Process through personal compliance and visible support actions.
- Support CSR activities
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
E Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 1 to 3 years in computer systems support with knowledge of telecommunications equipment.
- Associate degree preferred.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA A and CompTIA Network
- Microsoft 365 Certification
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Very Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening).
- Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
- Basic operations and coding are a plus.
- Generate Crystal reports within ECI Max.
- Proven technical skills and experience with systems networking, databases, web development, and end user support.
- Prior design experience in SQL and familiarity with Microsoft Access Database Management.
- Background in SCADA, HMI, and Ignition development a Plus.
- Prior experience with Microsoft.NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook, and HTML.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- PCs, cell phones, servers, network equipment, and tools are typically needed to build, maintain, and support IT systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Equal amounts of sitting and standing.
- Working in computer terminals or PCs, including wiring, lifting, and moving computer terminals, printers, and PCs.
- Occasional work on a lift or ladder may be required for network operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work will be done in a typical office environment, mainly at a workstation. Time will also be spent working in offices and factories supporting the IT environment.
