Production Manager

About the Role:

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the food manufacturing process and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be expected to manage a team of production workers and ensure that they are meeting production targets while maintaining high-quality standards. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure that the production process is optimized to meet customer demand and maximize profitability. The Production Manager is responsible to maintain the plant, machinery and its surroundings in compliance with Safety Quality Food Institute and Food Safety Procedures; Ensure enforcement of safety rules and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering or related field preferred; or experience commensurate with a degree
• 5 years of experience in food manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a management/supervisory role, Tortilla Industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of food production processes and techniques
• Excellent communication in English & Spanish
• Senior level leadership skills,
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong knowledge of a data driven environment
• Ability to understand, create, and use data & KPI's

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience with ERP systems and production planning software
• Experience in a high-volume, fast paced food manufacturing environment

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize production efficiency
• Manage and supervise production workers to ensure that they are meeting production targets and maintaining high-quality standards
• Monitor production processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and logistics, to ensure that production is aligned with customer demand and delivery schedules
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment for all production workers

Skills:

As a Production Manager, you will need to have strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage your team and collaborate with other departments. You will also need to have a deep understanding of production processes and techniques, as well as the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency. Additionally, proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems will be beneficial in this role. Finally, you will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities to ensure that production targets are met.
