Material Support Technician

Magnum Piering, Inc. in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a full-time Material Support Technician who will play an essential role in our success. This unique position will be responsible for nesting and material management of our manufacturing facility.

Job Description

The Material Support Technician will be responsible for nesting and material management:

• Nesting and material management of various flat machining processes (laser tables, plasma tables).
  
  • Machine capabilities
  • Cut speeds
  • Cut quality
  • Current nest backlog
• Managing material drops for both sheet metal and tube.
• Understanding machine capabilities (acceptable hole sizes, acceptable thicknesses, cut speeds).
• Utilizing nesting software to maximize utilization and effective use of cut time for sheet metal parts.
• Creating a cut plan using various stock lengths and cut lengths to maximize material utilization for tubes.
• Working with related departments to accomplish various goals;
  • working with Inventory Department to account for drops
  • working with Sheet Metal Department to maximum nests based on current orders
  • working with CAD Department to verify parts are approved
• Working within an ISO 9001 quality system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 experience working in a manufacturing facility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Background in Inventory or CAD is a plus
• Experience with various machines that require programming or nests
• Desire to develop this position within a rapidly expanding company

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season.
