As a Team Leader-Mechanic for our asphalt paving company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of our tri-axle dump truck fleet. Your responsibilities will include, coordinating workflow, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the asphalt truck fleet and tractor trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of asphalt trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement appropriate solutions.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts replaced, and inspection findings.
Plan and prioritize repair jobs to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance and repair activities.
Utilize maintenance management software or other tools to streamline documentation and reporting processes.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma: vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a truck maintenance environment.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems relevant to dump trucks.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment used for troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in equipment maintenance and repair.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
