MAI Wealth Management is Hiring an Employee Benefits Specialist Near Independence, OH

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Employee Benefits Specialist is an active member of the Employee Benefits Group. In this role, they will assist the Employee Benefits team with account-related service, new business matters, account set-up and overall client service requests for MAI Employee Benefits clients.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all service-related matters to meet the needs and requests of Employee Benefits clients and their accounts.
  • Responsible for new business processing of client accounts, on-boarding new accounts, and ongoing maintenance of accounts.
  • Manage client conversations or general business operations of Employee Benefits clients.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction through proactively addressing client needs and concerns. Establish and preserve a solid business rapport with clients and vendors.
  • Prepare meeting presentations with limited direction.
  • Scan and maintain documents, policies, and correspondence in AMS within CRM System.
  • Processes client requests for any money movement among client accounts.
  • Oversee new client set-up, renewals, and conduct open enrollment meetings.
  • Discuss applicable legislation and market trends with clients.
  • Generate client interest in additional lines of coverage. 
  • Retain files and electronically track processes and documentation. Record necessary changes/updates as appropriate.
  • Input data into AMS software within required deadlines accurately.
  • Manage email correspondence.
  • Assist team with customer service needs according to commitments and standards set forth by the department.
  • Work to understand new department processes, procedures and/or programs.
  • Assist internal and external clients with requests and problems in a timely manner.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of customer service experience in the insurance industry required.
  • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License preferred. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • CRM experience.
  • Experience managing self-funded and fully insured groups preferred.
  • Experience handling small-large market clients preferred.

  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of all client information and safeguards client and firm data; maintains high ethical standard in all practices.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude toward getting things done and will seek out additional responsibilities that may go beyond the scope of their formal job description.
