GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The manager provides strategic partnership, analysis, management-level reporting, and objective guidance to senior management and market leaders. The Forecast, Planning & Analysis (FPA) group, in conjunction with the FPA Manager, partners with senior management and market leaders to identify and analyze Company historical financial performance and budgeted vs. forecasted information, including risks and opportunities, potential market and/or product opportunities, industry benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPI) to enable forward looking, actionable insights with a focus on driving strategic value that influences key business decisions.

The FPA Manager will establish a newly organized FPA team to partner and support senior management and market leaders to provide management-level reporting of historical financial results, financial plan preparation, ad-hoc financial analyses on new product, service, and/or market opportunities, and a framework for key performance indicators which drive Company growth and profitability.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with senior management and market leaders on a range of initiatives, including financial analysis of business results, pipeline/forecasting, financial modeling and analytics (i.e., capacity analysis, product and/or service profitability), KPI and benchmark reporting, and senior management reporting including summary dashboards & analytics.
  • Clearly convey business insights from complex and voluminous financial and/or business information, enabling senior management and business leaders to make informed decisions.
  • Build financial models and ad-hoc analyses, management-level reporting, and KPIs that drive the growth and profitability of the business, and also allows for more informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication to develop a monthly management discussion and analysis of financial results, including revenue and profit drivers, pipeline analysis, financial risks and opportunities unusual items, industry issues that might impact profitability as well as balance sheet and cash flow impacts.
  • Perform industry benchmarking to compare Company vs. peers in terms of revenue growth, advisor production, and profitability.
  • Assist with quarterly Board deck financial and strategic presentations.
  • Responsible for the development, communication and reporting of a 3-year strategic plan, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Forecasting.
  • Responsible for Cost-Benefit analysis and ROI calculations for major strategic initiatives and Capex requests.

EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 8 years of analytical experience in a Finance or related business role; Financial Services industry experience a plus.
  • Experience in financial modeling, reporting & analytics, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of client information and safeguards client and company data; maintains high ethical standard in all practices.
