Position Summary
We are seeking a new member for our team to contribute essential strong financial oversight accomplished through:
- Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure financial statements, budgets, and forecasts are prepared accurately and on time. This establishes trust with stakeholders and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the reliability of financial information.
- Compliance: Stay up to date with changing regulations and ensure the organization adheres to tax, accounting, and legal standards.
This role is built for an analytical thinker eager to support our Chief Financial Officer by driving strategic insights, namely:
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Go beyond reporting numbers by analyzing financial data to provide actionable insights that support business goals.
- Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, sales, and HR) to align financial strategies with broader organizational objectives.
Our next Controller is also a pivotal people manager who will develop and lead a high-performing team through:
- Mentorship and Training: Build a skilled and motivated accounting team by providing regular training, feedback, and opportunities for growth.
- Technology Adoption: Leverage modern financial tools and technologies to enhance productivity and reduce manual errors.
- Communication: Foster clear, transparent communication with both your team and senior management, ensuring alignment on financial priorities and goals.
To be successful in this role, we seek a professional with these knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of GAAP, strong problem-solving skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.
- Expert-level user of Excel, database management, and financial accounting software packages.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication aptitude in leadership and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills to execute independent work and socially lead a team, without sacrificing accuracy and timeliness.
Education:
- A minimum education of a bachelor's degree in a field related to Accounting and Finance is preferred. CPA and/or MBA is a plus. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong GAAP accounting knowledge required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of private and/or public financial accounting and managerial experience is preferred. Experience in manufacturing, retail, or distribution industries is a plus, as well as M&A skills.
