What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alumni Engagement Intern Winter/Spring 2025 position at Make-A-Wish® Illinois?
This internship provides exposure to what goes into maintaining an amazing brand image for a successful nonprofit organization. The Alumni Engagement Intern will connect with wish children and families, learn their stories and integrate them into the Alumni Community to Wish it Forward. In this position you may also assist in coordinating Alumni events to enhance our continued presence throughout the state. The internship position assists Development, and the Marketing and Community Engagement team to ensure that Make-A-Wish brand is broadly visible, highly regarded, and active within Illinois communities.

- Assist with coordinating and executing engagement calls to new alumni families
- Coordination and support of Alumni Engagement Events
- Assisting with data entry
- Identify, recommend and engage with wish families for chapter speaking engagements
Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
- Strong attention to detail
- Well-developed communication skills - comfortable speaking with wish families, compassionate, charismatic, good listener, clear and thoughtful in tone and delivery
- Ability to multi-task
- Familiarity with Salesforce and experience with excel
- Public Speaking as you may have the opportunity to attend community engagement events
- Coursework in marketing, journalism, advertising, communications, public relations, and/or events management
- Must be able to commute to our downtown Chicago office
- Minimum age for all internships is 18
- Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a criminal background check
