Description:
Malloy is seeking a reliable Shop Assistant to join our team. The Shop Assistant role is the entry point to the Malloy repair shop which is a full-service repair center for electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, blowers, and other industrial equipment. This role serves as a support role within the shop to prepare repairs for senior mechanics.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, clean, scrape, and paint electric motors, parts, and other industrial equipment.
- Clean parts of all foreign materials using a bead blaster, steam cleaners, power washers, or solvent tank to prepare for repairs.
- Understand show flow and ability to track labor time and materials accurately.
- Learn form Mechanics and Service Technicians to grow knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to safely lift products and materials.
- Janitorial duties of cleaning shop, equipment, work areas and general building maintenance.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other functions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Use basic hand and power tools, operating forklifts and overhead cranes as required.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
