Campus Safety Officer Job Description
Job Title: Campus Safety Officer (Unarmed)
Department: Campus Safety
Reports To: Director of Campus Safety
Summary:
The Campus safety Officer is responsible for assisting students, faculty and staff with any security related issues. They respond to lock outs, traffic crashes on campus and assist Resident Directors upon request, just to name a few. The Campus Safety Officer mu be familiar with the Malone University Campus and locations of and uses of each building.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond in a timely manner to all requests for assistance.
2. Ensure all buildings are opened and closed at the appropriate times.
3. Assist students, staff and faculty with issues regarding access to buildings and offices.
4. Patrol campus and make regular building checks per department policies.
5. Be visible at all times as a deterrent to crime.
6. Assist the Assistant Director of Campus Safety as requested.
7. Keep Director of Campus Safety informed of incidents during your shift.
8. Work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
9. Any other task as requested by the Director of Campus Safety
Requirements:
1. Maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license
2. Maintain CPR and first aid certification.
3. Be knowledgeable of severe weather safety protocol.
4. Familiarize yourself with the campus and building emergency plans.
5. Be courteous and professional at all times.
6. Personal relationships with students are prohibited.
