Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s Degree or 5 years of demonstrated experience in a related field.
- Multilingual language skills preferred but not required.
- Experience with team facilitation and action planning.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with, Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavioral Health (MTSS-B) framework, Public Health models, and/or New Hampshire Children’s System of Care (NH CSoC).
- Experience establishing working relationships with community and/or state agencies that support youth behavioral health.
- Valid driver's license to travel to schools.
Specific Core Function:
The Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavioral Health (MTSS-B) District Coach may function in different capacities based on the Tier they are supporting at the schools. At Tier 1, the MTSS-B District Coach will lead schoolwide Tier 1 teams with planning and implementing schoolwide systems and practices for behavioral health promotion and violence prevention in each school. The Coach will engage team members, including students in secondary schools, in the process of building a strong foundation for schoolwide mental health promotion and school safety. At Tiers 2-3, the MTSS-B District Coach will assist where designated by the MTSS-B Director to collect data and coordinate training for school staff who support student behavioral health with targeted or intensive interventions. With the supervision of the MTSS-B Director, the Coach may lead or coordinate State or Federal grant activities that support student behavior, mental health, and school safety.
Responsibilities of the MTSS-B District Coach:
- Attend District MTSS-B Leadership Team meetings.
- Tier 1:
- Travel to schools across the District based on school assignment.
- Facilitate MTSS-B Tier 1 Teams monthly, and lead the teams through planning, implementing, and evaluating their schoolwide systems and practices for behavioral health and school safety.
- Tiers 1, 2, and/or 3:
- Follow the MTSS-B evaluation schedule and provide technical assistance, facilitating the completion of assessments and supporting teams with evaluation of implementation and outcome data and action planning to address areas of need.
- Provide technical assistance to teams to evaluate student outcomes for behavioral health equity, including monthly review of disaggregated office discipline referral data and suspension data to screen for disproportionate and exclusionary discipline practices among historically marginalized youth.
- Provide technical assistance to teams to review behavioral health access data, screening for disparities in access to the Tier 2-3 Behavioral Health Intervention Team for connection to higher tiered supports and referral to community services.
- Collect and manage data to support the MTSS-B system, federal grants, & state grants.
- Provide MTSS-B related professional development as needed to support school teams, administrators, and teaching staff.
- Coordinate staff and student trainings that support student behavioral health.
- Communicate from the schools to the MTSS-B Director gaps/needs based on data that may need District level support or resources to address.
Assignments and Committees:
- Committees as assigned by MTSS-B Director.
- Training and professional development as assigned by MTSS-B Director.
- Participate in MTSS-B related conferences as assigned by the MTSS-B Director based on availability of funds.
Specified Length/Hours of Position:
This is a non-affiliated 228-day salaried position and is contingent upon grant funding.
