SUMMARY: Supervises employees in the shipment area. Actively engages in the selection, staging, rotation, loading, receiving, shipping, and ordering of all company products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Enforces safety rules and company policies.
- Ensures that all required inbound/outbound documentation is complete and has been properly processed in the inventory management system.
- Maintains proper inventory levels to support customer orders and demands. Operates forklift as needed.
- Plans and organizes available resources (employees, materials, time, and equipment) to best meet loadout, quality, and safety goals.
- Monitors and adapts plans throughout the shift as needed.
- Plans accordingly to minimize production disruptions due to unplanned absences/circumstances.
- Leads and conducts pre- and post-shift briefings with fellow supervisors and management teams.
- Effectively communicates and coordinates product and resource availability within the production department.
- Actively engages in waste reduction efforts in all areas, including fluid milk, ingredients, packaging, finished products, labor, and loss prevention.
- Monitors and records necessary waste tracking documentation.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintains high sanitation standards by enforcing equipment and area cleanliness.
- Ensures all required process control documentation is completed.
- Investigates and immediately reports all incidents involving company equipment or personnel.
- Oversees shipping activities to ensure accuracy and condition of shipments.
- Inspects material handling equipment and cooler/warehouse daily for defects.
- Immediately notifies chain of command of any needed repairs.
- Onboards, coaches, mentors, and trains new employees in job duties.
- Directs and holds employees accountable for behavior, job tasks, and assignments.
- Instructs forklift drivers and equipment operators on job duties once certification completed.
- Coordinates loadout and communication with branch locations, 3rd party hauling companies, and vendors.
- Covers various positions and shifts in the department when needed.
- Promotes retention and provides a workplace culture that is clean and organized.
- Maintains a positive and safe environment that supports the company’s missions, visions, guiding principles, and core values.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To perform the supervisory skills of this position employee must be knowledgeable and effective in delegating duties, training, coaching, and mentoring staff.

EDUCATION or EXPERIENCE:

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of shipping and inventory procedures.
- Intermediate to expert computer proficiency level to include usage of MS Word and Excel.
