Application Engineer
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity where you can share your passion for industry while being on the cutting edge of technology? We are seeking an Applications Engineer to support our Marathon & WEG Generators business. This position is responsible for activities from the quote to after sales product support related to generators. Activities from composing proposals, communicating with customers and internal areas such as factories and sales team is part of the role.
Major Responsibilities
Work with customers to determine the best generator for their application, compile and compose accurate quotes, support customer training and be the subject matter expert for technical support.
Coordinates project inquiries and quotations including both Marathon & WEG Generators brand.
Review and analyze customer & industry technical specifications and applications to provide product selection with necessary options and accessories.
Interacts with various areas of the company in obtaining information for quotations.
Identifies and solves problems presented by customers, customer service, manufacturing, quality, sales, and engineering.
Works on the technical design, specification and create the technical documents to support the quote.
Analyzes and determines feasibility of design modifications and/or non-standard configurations.
Develops and follows standard procedures to facilitate scalable commercial & technical support.
Provides support for field representatives that will facilitate receipt of orders.
Assists in training field representatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills Required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent from a four-year college or university is preferred.
Proficient in MS Office tools
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to be an active listener who is customer oriented.
Some domestic travel may be required.
Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
Basic understanding of the sales process for serial and engineered products.
Experience with generators (alternators) or gen-sets is highly desired.
