Security Supervisor

Green Growth Group (GGG), a wholly owned subsidiary of MariMed Inc. is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to help lead essential dispensary security functions.

SUMMARY:

The Security Supervisor supports the Director of Security in overseeing the facility's safety and security operations, providing guidance to security staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role involves conducting routine inspections, monitoring surveillance systems, managing security protocols, and serving as a primary contact for state regulators and law enforcement. The Security Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a secure and compliant workplace environment while also responding effectively to emergencies as they may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility and Personnel Oversight:

• Conduct routine walk-throughs and security inspections of the facility and grounds.
• Monitor security cameras, ensure functionality and submit support tickets for issues.
• Supervise daily workflows, schedules, and assignments for security personnel, including guards and desk clerks.

Staff Management and Training:

• Assist in interviewing, onboarding, and training security staff.
• Conduct ongoing training for staff on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, safety, and security protocols.

Security Protocol Implementation:

• Implement and enforce security procedures for facilities and information systems.
• Provide specialized security for restricted areas, such as inventory storage, network equipment, and confidential records.
• Validate visitor and vendor access to maintain compliance with security standards.

Emergency Response and Medical Assistance:

• Provide first aid or rescue assistance in emergencies.
• Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or obtaining assistance from paramedics.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and the Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.
• Act as the point of contact for state regulators and Illinois State Police inspections.
• Prepare detailed reports for management, documenting inspections and regulatory visits.

Incident Management and Risk Mitigation:

• Monitor delivery vehicles using GPS software to assist the logistics team.
• Assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and create incident response plans.
• Respond to alarms and disturbances, conducting investigations and preserving evidence.

Reporting and Communication:

• Maintain logs documenting daily activities and incidents.
• Prepare reports on compliance and inspection findings.
• Communicate security policies and regulatory requirements to staff.

Professional Development and Technology Updates:

• Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and security technologies by attending meetings and seminars.

Additional Duties:

• Support 24/7 operations, including incident and staffing management as needed.
• Other duties as assigned to support the organization's security objectives.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• 2 to 3 years of security-related experience preferred.
• Proven management and supervisory skills.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.
• Capability to work with confidential, sensitive, and proprietary company information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and related software.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to proactively identify and solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in security operations within a regulated industry.
• Ability to manage and train security teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• First Aid/CPR Certification is a plus
• Previous cannabis industry experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This position requires an inordinate amount of time sitting and working with a computer
• Ability to traverse various areas of the facility to conduct inspections and organize and plan security procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
