What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver position at Marine Home Center?
SUMMARY
The CDL Delivery Driver ensures the timely, accurate, and safe delivery of products to our customers at their home or job sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check-in, load, and unload freight from trucks.
- Assist in preparing the Yard for daily business, restocking materials as needed.
- Safely pre-load trucks for delivery; ensure product is in good condition and review for accuracy.
- Ensure deliveries are made in a timely manner and provide prompt & courteous customer service.
- Follow all safety and lifting protocols during deliveries.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field.
- Assist with maintenance of fleet - ensuring proper level of gas, oil, inspections, etc.
- Resolve customer service issues in a timely basis; promptly seek supervisor assistance if needed.
- Accurate processing of paperwork as it relates to billing, invoicing, and purchase orders; communicate discrepancies to yard supervisor.
- Continue training and education re: products, and CDL regulations.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work vehicle.
- Commute to job site independently.
- Present professional appearance and represent company by wearing company apparel.
- Any additional duties that may arise and as assigned by department manager.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, sales staff, and internal personnel.
- Self-starter with strong problem solving and decision-making ability.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- High School Diploma or GED certificate
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience; or related professional training
- Possesses knowledge of building materials products.
- Proficiency with computers; aptitude to use computer applications and software
- Customer Service and dispute resolution
- Possess good manual dexterity
- Ability to bend at waist, squat, kneel, jump, climb, and reach above shoulder
- Ability to lift >= 75 lbs.
- Valid MA CDL Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record
- Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain on upon employment.
- Ability to acquire or maintain a Hoisting and/or Hydraulics License
- Consent to Drug & Alcohol Testing
