We are seeking candidates for a Senior Associate, Trust Services position open for Mariner Trust Company. The position will be based out of our Kansas City, KS or Sioux Falls, SD office but can be primarily remote.
Mariner Trust Company offers corporate trustee services for clients of Mariner Wealth Advisors and multiple Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). The Senior Trust Associate will support trust officers with the administration of trusts, operational activities and management of client experience. This position reports to MTC’s Director of Service and Operations.

The Senior Trust Associate will support trust officers with the administration of trusts, operational activities and management of client experience. This position reports to MTC’s Director of Service and Operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist Trust Officers with the preparation and execution of required and discretionary distributions.
- Assist Trust Officers with onboarding prospective and new client relationships.
- Oversee, and in some instances prepare forms for new and closing accounts; ensure accurate account set-up for client contacts, statement preferences, bill pay, distributions, fees, account reviews, tax forms, and other entries required for complete files.
- Oversee, and in some instances initiate, tasks and transactions for account maintenance
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of client files for all trust accounts.
- Assist with monthly statement production, fee invoicing and collection.
- Manage and respond to inquiries from advisors regarding the use of trust accounting system and established workflows; act as liaison between Mariner Trust Company and advisors for technical and procedural issues.
- Produce reports and gather supporting documentation as directed by the Director of Service and Operations to effectively monitor trust business, identify and resolve exceptions, and prepare for regulatory audits.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum five years of trust administration and/or trust operations experience consistent with the responsibilities of this position or comparable experience within an investment advisory company.
- Experience with the administration of trusts, family limited partnerships and closely-held businesses preferred.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and computer skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving and critical analysis.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
