MArketing Department is Hiring an Account Coordinator Near Houghton, MI

Marketing Department, Inc., the region’s leading marketing agency, is growing and adding an Account Coordinator to our team in Houghton, Michigan. Agency clients are in manufacturing, high-tech, healthcare, and banking industries. No matter the industry, we work closely with our clients to grow business and get results.

The Account Coordinator is organized, professional and outgoing. This position will collaborate with the Account Supervisor to deliver work and service that meets our clients’ very high standards.

A successful Account Coordinator will:

  • grow and manage social media platforms for each client;
  • deliver superior service to our clients with quick responses and succinct communication;
  • work with the Project Manager to ensure projects are on time and on budget;
  • coordinate work that aligns with each client’s brand and project objectives;
  • collaborate and coordinate work with a fast-paced production team from concept to final media;
  • troubleshoot with a keen eye for details;
  • support the Account Supervisor to support all client activities; and be passionate about producing great work!

Compensation/Benefits. For the right candidate, this position can be 40 hours a week with a flexible schedule. The position starts at $18-25/ hour (depending on experience) with excellent healthcare benefits, retirement match, unlimited time if your work is done and great, PTO, and an energizing, modern work environment located in the heart of downtown Houghton.

The Account Coordinator is ultimately responsible for ensuring that we deliver quality content at the highest level of service.

Examples of day-to-day assignments may include:

  • social media planning and coordination;
  • daily communication with clients to coordinate meeting times and approvals;
  • attend meetings with clients, take notes and follow up on deliverables;
  • coordinate internal and external meetings, agendas, and follow-up reports;
  • work with the Marketing Manager to conduct client market research;
  • maintain budgets;
  • coordinate and/or participate in any point in the project cycle;
  • maintain media plans;
  • ensure projects when the client is expecting the project ;
  • work with advertising vendors to develop budgets;
  • verify production specs;
  • adhere to agency processes;
  • complete daily timesheet;
  • ensure work has been proofread and approved internally;
  • provide estimates and timelines to clients;
  • assist with client-led generation activities;
  • energize the client;
  • create reports and presentations;
  • understand our clients’ industries and what they do.

Qualified candidates have:

  • ninja-like organizational skills;
  • business administration background (preferred);
  • strong written and verbal communication style that is clear and concise;
  • strong computer skills: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel;
  • willingness to work within several marketing and PR applications;
  • understanding of social and digital media;
  • ability to think critically and creatively;
  • ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
  • knowledge of marketing and writing best practices;
  • professional attitude inside and outside the office;
  • sense of humor;
  • outgoing!
