Marriott Kansas City Downtown is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Kansas City, MO

Job Summary:
As a member of the property Human Resources team, this entry-level Human Resources Manager directs and works to carry out the daily activities of the Human Resource Office with emphasis on staffing and recruitment. Additionally, he/she will assist in employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success. The HR Manager ensures compliance with federal state and local regulations and Aimbridge Hospitality operating procedures. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Approaches all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Responsible for all aspects related to the recruitment and hiring process, including jop postings, candidate screening, extending job offers and conducting a smooth pre-employment process.
  • Develops a close working relationship with all department managers to stay current with recruitment and staffing needs.
  • Leads active recruitment efforts through a variety of progressive strategies, including community partnerships, employment agencies, campus recruitment, social media, etc.
  • Leads campus recruitment efforts, including traveling to campuses for recruitment and partnership programs.
  • Oversees domestic and international internship/trainee programs.
  • Manages the Applicant Tracking System by overseeing requisitions and advancing/disqualifying applicants.
  • Ensures the integrity of the selection process and coordinates interviewing/selection skills development for management team.
  • Assists in the new hire onboarding process and trainings.
  • Responsible for all internal associate transactions & processes (i.e. promotions, transfers, performance reviews, etc.)
  • Implements and monitors employee relations and incentive programs; resolves issues as they arise.
  • Assists with benefit's orientations and 401K enrollment meetings.
  • Assists with COBRA process, as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable employment practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for the accurate administration of associate compensation and benefits.
  • Investigates and assists with workers compensation claims and hotel safety related issues.
  • Administrates, facilitates, monitors, maintains and communicates Aimbridge Hospitality policies and procedures.
  • Maintains associate and property Human Resource documents records and files as required by government regulations and Aimbridge Hospitality policies and procedures.
  • Represent the HR department in a professional and respectful manner and maintains an open door policy.
  • Ensures staff compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.
  • Participates in various training programs and hotel service intiatives.
  • Ensures managers are using positive coaching, counseling and discipline to address issues/concerns.
  • Contributes to Human Resources team effort in culture intiatives and service branding.
  • Conveys information and ideas clearly.
  • Evaluates and selects among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Routinely meets deadlines and demonstrates the ability to multi task.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems that may arise.
  • Performs other projects and duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
  • College course work in related field helpful.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws are helpful.
  • Demonstrates sound decision making skills, enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, and previous Applicant Tracking System experience is helpful.
  • Familiar with Human Resources/employee regulations and laws and ensure that the property is in compliance.
