Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The VP Technology Services partners with the other members of the Information Services Leadership Team and external partners to ensure the operational effectiveness and high availability and reliability of the Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. This individual is responsible for establishing the current and long-range direction of technology and keeping MCHS at the forefront of change. The VP Technology Services develops overall strategies for information needs, systems development, and hardware acquisition and integration; and networking services needed to deliver application services and data throughout the organization. This individual works closely with the CIO, MCHS Executive leadership team, the Clinical Operations, Research, and Health Plan leadership teams and the MCHS IS Executive leadership team, serving as the primary resource for identifying and fulfilling technology needs across the Health System. The VP Technology Services collaborates with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on the design and implementation of the enterprise IT security strategies at MCHS.
This is planned to be a temporary role for at least one year, full benefitted.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field.
Preferred/Optional: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Executive leadership experience. Fifteen years in IT management in a health care or related setting. Fifteen years of experience working with technical infrastructure to include hardware, networks, databases, and cybersecurity. Demonstrated experience in hosting, securing, integrating and maintaining systems in multi-user, multi-platform operating system environments, including previous experience providing technical infrastructure and services to support the implementation and 24/7 operation of electronic health record systems and other clinical applications and products. Demonstrated experience in organizing and coordinating programs and establishing and delivering complex interrelated health IT projects within those programs. Demonstrated leadership ability. Demonstrated experience in delivering health IT projects on time and within budget. Experience overseeing data center operations, managed services, and disaster recovery and business continuity of operations plans and readiness. Experience with vendor performance management and contract administration. Experience designing, implementing, and tracking service levels internally and with software vendors. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft office productivity tools to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred/Optional: Experience in architecture, development and project management. Experience working in a health care setting. Demonstrated experience using lean tools and applying lean principles to daily work and approach to management. Experience using program/project management software to include MS Project and, Eclipse.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) certification awarded by the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS).
