Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring consistency and excellence in taste and presentation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to design innovative sushi menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
- Handle food products with care, ensuring proper storage and handling techniques are followed to minimize waste.
- Utilize various kitchen tools and equipment safely, including knives and sushi-making tools, while demonstrating excellent knife skills.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices in food handling.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs for ordering supplies as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a restaurant or food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation techniques.
