About the Environmental Aide:
Under supervision, the Environmental Aide performs a variety of cleaning, laundry, and routine floor maintenance duties according to established sanitary, antiseptic, and infection control guidelines and procedures. Other duties as assigned. The shift for this position is typically 7:30 am - 4:00 pm and you will be required to work at least one weekend per month.

Responsibilities of the Environmental Aide:
- Cleans and disinfects assigned room, office, and corridor areas according to established procedures and schedules; performs isolation and emergency cleaning as required using established procedures and techniques. Mixes cleaning solutions as required. Replenishes paper and other disposable products as needed. Reports needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the Environmental Supervisor/Manager.
- Strips, and cleans beds to include mattress rotation and linen replacement. Transports soiled linen to the designed area. Transports residents' soiled personal and dry cleaning to laundry and soiled pick-up areas as required. Performs routine room mopping and buffing of resident rooms, offices, corridors, and ancillary areas. Does routine carpet cleaning to include damp buffing and light extraction procedures.
- Removes trash and waste throughout assigned work area according to established procedures. Transports waste to, loads and operates trash compactor.
- At shift end, cleans and inspects equipment, and replaces user-serviceable parts including vacuum bags, belts, pads, etc. Cleans and restocks cleaning carts as required. Transports equipment to designated storage areas. Reports equipment maintenance issues to supervisor.
- Performs Laundry Room duties as assigned involving collecting, washing, drying, sorting, folding, and distributing flat linens and resident clothing.
Qualifications of the Environmental Aide:
- A minimum of two years of related institutional environmental experience preferred. Healthcare experience preferred.
