Overview
We have an upcoming prevailing wage project at Naval Station Norfolk and are urgently seeking skilled commercial masonry equipment operators to join our team. Qualified candidates who can pass a background check will earn competitive wages.
We are looking for experienced operators with a strong background in construction or masonry. Candidates will be responsible for safely operating equipment such as forklift / telehandler. The ideal candidate should prioritize safety, demonstrate precision and efficiency in their work, and thrive in a team environment while following directions from the foreman.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts /telehandlers to move materials and equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading construction materials such as block, mortar, and scaffolding components.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with masons and laborers to keep the project on schedule.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and ensure compliance with project and company standards.
- Assist with general masonry tasks as needed.
- Work hand in hand with the site foreman to keep stock of masonry materials and to alert the foreman when a material is running low
Requirements
- Must pass a background check and obtain a badge for base access.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Proven experience operating construction equipment, preferably in masonry or related fields.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for machinery and construction sites.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
