Service Writer

Job Description

Master Muffler is looking for a hardworking, self-motivated, full time Service Writer to work at one of the Salt Lake Valley locations. There are many opportunities to advance in the workplace including management positions. 

Responsibilities

• Help Build an amazing culture for the team
• Set and achieve Yearly, Monthly and Weekly goals
• Build estimates and repair orders efficiently and honestly
• Sell automotive repairs with confidence
• Build relationships with customers and offer excellent customer service
• Manage inventory
• Manage and train new employees
• Assist Manager of H/R to develop the technicians and other employees
• Find and support technical training programs
• Constantly monitor and improve the operation of the Shop
• Attend regular training for best operational practices
• Work irregular hours based on the demands of the work flow
• Dispute resolution with customers
• Check vehicle maintenance records
• Examine vehicle service schedules
• Assist office staff in streamlining and improving their processes
• Plan, host, assist in Community events
• Train sales staff on salesmanship
• Phone Trainer
• Must be a productive self-starter
• Must be able to adapt to change in the company and demands at work
• Assist in industry recognition for our company

Qualifications

• Understand automotive problems/concerns by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying problems through asking questions.
• Sale Experience
• Must have 5 years industry experience.
• Must be able to show leadership skills
• Have profitable track record.
• Demonstrated that he has set and achieved goals.
• Must be able to clearly explain why he would be the best to move the store forward in profitability and sales growth.
• Optimistic and hopeful. The first one to show up, volunteer and complete assigned duties. 
• Expert Sales person, including excellent phone skills.
• Show expertise in inventory management.
• Safety and Emissions Licenses a plus 
• ASE Certifications a plus
• Tool ownership a plus but not required
• Automotive diagnostic capabilities are a plus
