This position performs technical and customer service duties in support of the processing of permits.Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Inegrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Reviews, conducts research, processes, and approves a variety of permits.Reviews and permits capital projects and operations and maintenance to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates right-of-way or other code requirements with other departments.Provides information to the general public and to other Borough departments regarding developmental and permitting requirements.Reviews supplied local information such as flood studies, civil drawings, and maps for accuracy and completeness.Performs field observations and documents events such as flooding, fires, wind events, and earthquakes; locates, catalogs, and documents high water marks.Assists disaster victims in applying for state and federal programs.Provides flood hazard, plan review, relevant permit determination, or public records request information to banks, insurance agents, real estate agents, other government agencies, other Borough staff, and the general public.Represents the Borough at public meetings; provides information and answers questions.Coordinates right-of-way or construction management activities with utility companies, and contractors; reviews engineered and non-engineered drawings of work to be performed.Coordinates right-of-way or Fire Code requirements with other departments.Ensures all right-of-way or submittal of plan review work is in compliance with Borough code; provides technical assistance to those unfamiliar with these standards.Updates policies, procedures and practices.Identifies code violations and necessary corrective actions.Assists in updating the Mitigation Plan and land development regulations.Conducts research to address issues with topography and easement documentation, or fire service area jurisdictional boundaries.Assists with Floodplain or Fire Code Management and Mitigation efforts; determines area suited for mitigation; participates in the grant application process.Writes, or assists in writing, ordinances and regulations related to floodplain or Fire Code development controls.Reviews and comments on city, state and federal applications for water, wetlands, land use, building construction, or environmental concerns.Performs related duties.
