Position Summary
In alignment with MCC’s care values and strategic priorities, reporting the Director of Individual and Corporate Giving, and in partnership with the Vice President of Advancement and External Affairs, the Associate Director of Annual Giving is responsible for implementing MCC’s annual giving program, which aims to drive growth and sustainability for the organization with a specific goal of increasing unrestricted funds.
The primary goal of this role is to help secure and maintain individual revenue that diversifies and expands MCC’s funding streams resulting in sustainability. Specifically, the Associate Director of Annual Giving will focus on MCC’s loyal giving program, donor retention, and stewardship initiatives for individual donors and corporations.

Position Responsibilities
Fund Development
- Responsible for setting and implementing MCC’s loyal giving program through collaborating with the External Affairs, Programs, and Executive teams. Includes managing a portfolio of loyal donors and setting strategy for soliciting and stewarding this group of important MCC donors.
- Holds a leadership role in producing all annual giving campaigns, both print and digital. Includes writing solicitations and co-creating themes for campaigns, partnering with Director of Individual and Corporate Giving and Senior Director of Marketing, Communications, and PR to create an annual appeals calendar to reach fundraising goals.
- Accountable for retaining donors; pays attention to retention metrics and makes recommendations for sustaining loyal giving, helping to moving donors up the pipeline.
- Responsible for the oversight and implementation of MCC’s stewardship initiatives of all private funds (individuals, foundations, and corporations). Includes project managing quarterly donor newsletter, thank-a-thons, stewardship letters, and other creative initiatives to share MCC’s deep appreciation for our donor community.
- Partners with all members of the Development Team in moving donors through the pipeline, implementing strategies that support the full donor cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).
- Supports Development Team in planning and implementing MCC’s annual fundraising events, including Celebrating Mothers Brunch, as well as any other donor events specific to giving societies or general engagement/stewardship
- Represents MCC and our programs in the community (networking and/or tabling events, speaking engagements).
- Works alongside Development Team to organize, motivate, and lead MCC volunteers.
- In partnership with the Development Coordinator, serves as a CRM administrator for the organization to support them as they manage gift entry, acknowledgment, receipting, staying up to date with CRM updates and improvements, and handling all database-related support inquiries from employees.
- Assesses and ensures the accuracy, security, and integrity of the CRM, including management of data entry standards and best practices.
- Attend relevant workshops or join professional groups as necessary to maintain professional knowledge.
- Facilitates and attends relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
- Completes special projects or tasks specific to the function of the department or as needed for the department.
- Demonstrated understanding of MCC’s mission, background, service delivery model, and Theory of Change.
- Candidate must demonstrate respect for diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice with co-workers and stakeholders.
- Compelling storyteller able to construct a motivation for giving from conception to finish.
- Creativity and the ability to introduce and implement innovative ideas and approaches.
- Skilled at building relationships and collaborating with diverse groups, independently, and as an effective team member.
- Excellent skills in communications, project management and administration, including the ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
- Technology competency in word processing, preferably Microsoft Office, website, fundraising applications, and CRM use.
- Minimum of four years of nonprofit development experience with a demonstrated background in at least one of the following areas: annual giving, stewardship, or individual giving.
- Experience with donor databases (CRM).
- BS/BA or equivalent lived or professional experience.
