Job Title: Blending Supervisor

Reports to: Floor Supervisor

Status: Hourly

Department: Production

Hours: Full-Time, 8-hour shift Monday-Friday, Nightshift

Salary: Starts at $20 per hour (based on experience) plus $1 bonus premium for attendance. Additional $2.00/hr night shift differential for Nights.

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week

Description of duties:

The Blending Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and mixing ingredients for liquid filling production. This includes the accuracy of ingredients, weights, and following batch recipes. This position also ensures that all blending-related cleaning tasks are completed in a timely manner, including all totes and tanks, and ensuring all cleaned and dirty items are stored properly. The Blending Supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily functions for a team of Blending Operators. This includes training all Blending Operators to ensure they are performing all blending related tasks to the highest standards and assigning tasks to the team daily. The Blending Supervisor will work with the Production Assurance Supervisor on any blend updates and scheduling.

This will be a hands-on and administrative role, spending most of the time on the floor supervising and participating in active blends. A smaller portion of the time will be spent on a computer and completing required daily administrative duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow production schedule, review orders, report priority sequence
  • According to the formula, pick, weigh, and stage the required raw materials from the warehouse and follow work order manufacturing instructions for blending batches.
  • Completely and accurately fill out the production documents with initials.
  • Collect the required samples according to the work order instructions for testing by QC.
  • Follow GMP, safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Actively participates in cleaning and sanitation protocols by preparing the plant using daily, weekly, monthly, cleaning procedures.
  • Ensuring all direct reports follow all required duties for their roles.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Ability to understand compounding, mixing, and filtration.
  • Completes required batch documentation records.
  • Assist in the handling, dispensing and sampling of hazardous raw materials.
  • Demonstrates positive and productive team member interaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is the first-level supervisor over Blending Operators. Will supervise two teams (A & B) consisting of around 10 employees combined.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a manufacturing environment. Noise levels can be excessive when blending tanks are running. The floors are concrete and floorplan is large, requiring long travel at times by foot or forklift.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently walk up and down stairs.
  • Regularly tilt large totes, while empty, slightly for cleaning.
  • Regularly push and pull objects.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Willing to train the right candidate.
  • Minimum of 3 years Manufacturing Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year is a Supervisory Role
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Forklift certification is a plus, but not required. Will train to get certified through the company.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have strong math, reading and comprehension skills.
  • The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years in the manufacturing industry with a focus in chemical blending.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and experience in professional communication.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn quickly and adapt quickly to changes.
  • The ideal candidate will be skilled on a computer, particularly in the Microsoft suite of software.
