What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control Panel Specialist position at Mayekawa USA?
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Possess the aptitude to provide electrical services for both in house and job site projects.
- Possess skills to troubleshoot and assess the repair of industrial control panels, PLC systems and understand installed components.
- Read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and P&IDs.
- Verify and compare the electrical schematics to the turn-in and P&ID to make sure that all the current options were installed and wired in the panel.
- Perform point-to-point wire verification ensuring each wire has been wired correctly.
- Energize control panels and verify each electrical component is functional and independently energized according to the power distribution drawing.
- Verify that all components are installed in control panel based on issued Bill of Material (BOM)
- Knowledge of analog input /output and digital input / output signals.
- Fill out FAT test procedure forms for all panels.
- Apply U.L. labels on applicable panels and record serial number documentation.
- Knowledge of the use of a multi-meter and a 4-20mA signal generator / simulator.
- Install all necessary documentation inside the control panel.
- Take digital photos of all panels after completion and download to server.
- Install completed control panels in shipping boxes / containers and relocate to shipping-receiving area for transport.
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to interact in a professional manner with contractors and end users.
- Ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment and maintain a clean working environment both in-house and on site.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5 years minimum experience in the industrial control panel field.
- Basic PLC knowledge is advantageous, but not mandatory.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel and obtain specific training.
- Must possess good mechanical skills, self-motivated and capable of working unsupervised.
- Ability to travel 10%-15% of the year for training and to domestic jobsites.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.
