What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Mechanic III position at MCCNO?
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform day to day assignments via instructions from the Chief Engineer to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Inspect, repair and install physical plant equipment in accordance with industry guidelines.
- Perform routine servicing on chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, motors and valves to ensure the proper operation and extended operating life of such equipment.
Serve as a backup for the Engineer III to ensure that the plant is adequately staffed at all times.
- Monitor, initiate changes and/or adjustments and identify operating abnormalities of equipment through the BMS system.
- Program lights, start/stop air handlers, chillers, boilers, pumps and exhaust fans and monitor space temperature ensuring operational efficiency.
Record observed readings on equipment and completion of assigned daily and shift maintenance tasks in the Engineer's log book.
React correctly and promptly to all equipment failures/abnormalities by logging data, restoring equipment to normal operation and notifying the Chief Engineer of equipment needing repair or replacement.
Interface all equipment repairs in harmony with other internal functional departments as required minimizing disruption and maximizing effectiveness.
Assist vendors and contractors as required in completing their contractual obligations in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
Comply with established inventory, equipment distribution, equipment operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the efficient, effective and safe operation of the plant.
- Possess strong knowledge of hand tool, diagnostic equipment and power tool use.
Adhere to the policies regarding MCCNO and departmental procedures.
