What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Intern position at McGlinchey Stafford?
The Accounting / Finance Intern will complete various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :
- Processes and posts invoicing, including utilities and other recurring expenses in accounting software : daily, weekly, monthly
- Processes and posts payments for payables; daily, weekly, monthly by compiling and sorting documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions
- Prepares invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy.
- Contributes to the team environment in an effort to accomplish the results needed.
- Organizes and prioritizes daily tasks to ensure the appropriate level of urgency applies to all tasks; must be able to multitask
- Collaborates with other departments, such as Corporate Accounting and IT, to address and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Communicates professionally through email and telephone. Must be able to return emails and calls within a timely manner.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- ideal candidate would be someone who graduated or will graduate in May and currently takes late afternoon or night classes
