Overview: Acquiring land is critical to the home building process. This position is primarily responsible for research and to identify potential land acquisition opportunities that align with our Company and Business Plan goals. Routinely perform analyses to determine appropriate offer prices for targeted land opportunities. Maintain a tracking log and land search map of viable tracts as well as a log of comparable transactions in surrounding areas.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs land use and zoning analyses to evaluate potential future sites
- Research land purchase opportunities in desirable areas by utilizing Land Vision software, Metrostudy software, Google Earth, and other sources
- Assist the Land Acquisition team in the preparation of financial proformas to determine the viability of proposed land acquisitions. Create reports from Market Research Software (Marketsight, and Zonda) and other data sources to define competitors.
- Stays current with research tools and industry news
- Compiles and supports all land acquisition requests
- Understands and maintains submarket information, including supply and demand
- Uses data to evaluate current home inventory trends
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Real Estate, Business and/or Finance preferred)
- 1-3 years of land acquisition transactional experience in residential or commercial real estate.
- Homebuilding experience preferred.
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (at least intermediate level, advanced preferred)
- Strong organizational skills
- Market analysis experience a plus
- Metrostudy software experience a plus
