What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director, Employer Relations position at MCPHS?
Reporting to the Director of Employer Relations at the MCPHS Career Development Center (CDC), the Assistant Director, Employer Relations implements outreach initiatives and recruiting programs as part of an effective and dynamic employer engagement team.
Position is based in Boston and offers a flexible work arrangement with the opportunity to work remote part of the week.
The Career Development Center is an 11-person team providing comprehensive career services for students who are hard-working and in demand for the healthcare and life science education and skill sets.

Working with the Executive Director, develop, execute, and promote strategy to increase the internship and job placement rate for all MCPHS students.- Conduct outreach initiatives to develop new employer partnerships and increase internship & job opportunities for all MCPHS students. Manage relationships with existing employer partners.
- Manage planning and execution of employer recruiting & brand-building events at MCPHS.
- Assist with managing Internship Program in coordination with Career Education team for students in life sciences, public health, and healthcare management.
- Assist with the development and administration of on-campus internships for MCPHS students within staff offices, academic departments, research institutes, and centers of excellence.
- Develop web resources for employers and promote recruiting events on career services CRM and social media channels.
- Manage capture and reporting of data & information on current and prospective employers, all CDC-employer interactions, and internship placements for students enrolled in internship courses.
- Contribute to sustaining and enhancing an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Bachelor's degree with one or more years of experience with employer and/or university relations.
- Experience with external outreach initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and external partners.
- Knowledge of internship best practices and recruiting trends.
- Experience and comfort with CRM platforms and related technology.
- Ability to travel occasionally to other MCPHS campuses in Worcester and Manchester, NH
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Master's degree with two or more years of experience with employer and/or university relations.
- Experience with healthcare and/or life sciences employer engagement and/or early talent acquisition.
- Experience with data collection and analysis for program assessment.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure
- Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends
- Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction)
- Ability to lift up to 5-10 lbs.
