UTILITY PERSON
Purpose:
Participates in on-the-job training and performs basic repairs of agricultural and turf equipment under the direction of General Manager. Also assists in unloading/loading of equipment on the yard and local .
Responsibilities:
- Performs basic service tasks as assigned to include set up of equipment.
- Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Assists senior technicians as needed
- Maintains the condition of service vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments
- Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
- May perform pre-delivery set-up and inspection on new equipment
- May on occasion pick up and deliver customer equipment (Non CDL)
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- Good knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment
- Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by the Dealership
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Good skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Fork lift license preferred
