What are the responsibilities and job description for the BENEFITS COORDINATOR position at MEADVILLE MEDICAL CENTER?
Provides information to managers, supervisors, and staff as requested regarding interpretation of personnel policies. Responds to all incoming calls and guests to the department. Assists with needs of applicants and staff members. Assists in coordination of special functions; picnic, attendance recognition, service recognition. Meets with new staff individually and/or in group meetings to review benefit information. Coordinates AFLAC meetings and processes paperwork for new hires. Administer AFLAC Salary Redirection Agreements and Premium authorization/waiver form in absence of AFLAC agent. Processes enrollment forms for Pharmacy, Health, Vision and Dental Insurance benefits. Enters appropriate withholding and URM into the Meditech system. Counsels staff on HIPP eligibility and processes appropriate paperwork. Posts monthly payments. Distributes URM forms, assisting staff when necessary. Initial COBRA notification is sent to insurance members upon commencement of enrollment. Notifies staff of insurance options upon change of status and processes appropriate forms concerning
insurance. Assist staff with insurance claim issues and concerns. Acts as a client liaison between staff and insurance carriers. Process insurance termination paperwork at time of exit interview. Initiate the COBRA Qualifying Event form to the COBRA administrator. Process the college verifications of dependents to the insurance carriers. Coordinates annual open enrollments. Instructs AFLAC representatives of processes. Maintains accurate files with regards to insurance. Generates missing time cards report every pay ending. Staff members are contacted for payment and checks are sent to cashier for deposit. Tracking of numerous reports done in a timely and efficient manner.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must be a high school graduate with additional training in business subjects.
Associate degree in Business Administration preferred.
Must have the ability to apply appropriate rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Knowledge of computers a necessity: Must possess Micro-soft Office knowledge, Excel and Windows.
Ability to read and interpret Summary Plan Document and effectively communicate same to staff and management.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in compensation, payroll, benefits or HRIS preferred.
