Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Nurse plays a crucial role in providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and excellent patient care skills. The nurse will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to cardiac catheterization and mammography.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after interventional procedures.
- Administer medications and manage acute pain effectively.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Operate medical imaging equipment as needed during procedures.
- Provide support in the management of occupational health concerns related to interventional radiology.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
- Experience in acute care settings, preferably within interventional radiology or similar specialties.
- Familiarity with medical imaging systems and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to interventional procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Previous experience in home care or occupational health is a plus.
- Certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) is preferred.

Pay: $27.67 - $48.00 per hour
