What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flight Nurse position at Medical Air Rescue Co.?
The Medical Air Rescue Company (MARC) Nurse is responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to healthcare facilities. This includes provision of basic, advanced, and critical care life support measures required to stabilize critically ill or injured patients. The ability to establish positive interpersonal and professional relationships is essential. The Flight Nurse reports to the Base Leadership.
While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to perform medical procedures and assessments, reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell. The employee is required to maintain adequate physical conditioning to be able to perform job duties. Job duties are often performed at high stress levels requiring employee to function effectively and independently while maintaining good working relationships with partners, patients, and customers. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 80 pounds or more. All licenses and certifications are reimbursed to the employee upon successful completion.
Must be willing to relocate to area (within 3 hours of base)
Current nursing licensure in all states with bases.
BLS, ACLS, PALS. All required prior to employment and must be kept current during employment.
Trauma certification of PHTLS within one year of hire. AMLS and EPC also required within one year of hire.
CFRN required within one year of hire.
**All certifications must be sent with application**
4000 hours of ER, ICU, CICU, MICU within the last three years required pre-hire.
Advanced airway training preferred.
(ETT, LMA, King airway, surgical/needle cricothyrotomy)
