JOB DESCRIPTION

General Summary of PositionPlans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Builds, develops, and grows internal relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Coordinates project post mortems and creates a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Coordinates the estimations of resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Develops project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Directs and manages project development from beginning to end. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Acts as liaison with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical paths. Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Tracks project milestones and deliverables. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans. Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
  • Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identifies and resolves issues within the project team.
  • Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
  • Minimum Qualifications Education

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required

    Experience

    • 1-2 years Work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. working knowledge of various safety program operations, processess, and policies; demonstrated understanding of performance improvement mechanisms and data collection; and experience working effectively with patient safety officers, risk management teams, other leaders and front line staff. experience in working within a team environment as member, facilitator, and process manager. proven record of managing projects to successful completion required

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI PMP Certification is highly encouraged within 1 Year required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Basic computer skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, motivate, and control resources to achieve specific goals, under the constraints of project scope, time, quality, and budget.
